Speedway Christmas light displays at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The annual light display, now in its fifth year, features 3.1 miles of more than 3 million LED lights and 800 light displays. A 40-foot-tall elf and 200,000 linear feet of lights, all synchronized to music, is the centerpiece of the light show. The speedway estimates it took 2,760- Man hours to set up all the lights and that 675 volunteers will help out during this holiday season. The 6,000-square foot Bethlehem village includes roughly 375 church and community group volunteers. A 20,000- square foot Christmas village takes up most of the Nationwide garage and features photos with Santa, craft vendors and concessioners, a festival of trees and other games and activities. The light show is open through Dec. 30, excluding Christmas Day.
