This is the first year two players are being honored instead of one.Rocky Reid (left) and Qua Grisson are the Independent Tribune 2013 Battle of the Bell Players of the Game. In Concord’s 33-20 win over Kannapolis last Friday, Reid made three long touchdown runs while rushing for 232 yards. Grisson recovered two fumbles and intercepted two passes. Two of the fumble recoveries were inside the 10-yard line when Kannapolis was threatening to score. His first of two picks stopped a late drive by the Wonders when they were trailing 25-20. Reid is only the second junior to receive this honor, with Concord’s Jalen Brown being the first. Other winners include: Sean Fortson, Lance Lewis, Jonathan Efird, Jamill Lott, Travis Riley, Kalif Phillips and B.J. Beecher. This is the first year two players are being honored instead of one.
